Where Have I Been ?

     Hello all, 2010 just started and already I am playing catch up. My Daddy (I am his one and only... who said thank goodness ?!) as I was saying, my Daddy has finally retired and is moving back to Jamaica, West Indies to his dream home. So I was very grateful that we got a chance to spend some much needed time together. Thanx Daddy! I miss him already. He will be wintering there and summering here in the states. Neither of my parents have had it easy, they both came to the Philadelphia, PA area in the early 70's. My mother a banker, my father an architect. Their degrees from Jamaica weren't accepted here in the U.S. so they had to return to college all while working (sometimes 2 jobs) and also taking care of me (which wasn't easy !!! Seriously, I was a sickly child. Sickle Cell Thalecemia).  So I feel that these are my parents "Golden Years" and I want them to enjoy all that they have worked and strived so hard to achieve.
     Since I have been on winter break from school house cleaning has become number one on my list of things to do. It seems like the more I clean, the more there is to clean...When will it end? Heloise where are you ?
     I am hosting a Love Fest for married couples on Feb.7th, 2010. Marriage is an important institution to me because of the bad rap it has been receiving especially of late. I have been diligently working at it because I want it to be a success, so I am not leaving any detail to chance.
     I am also trying to get a few women I know to create a cookbook. They are some really great cooks whom I would like to introduce to the world ... but mor on that later.

     Finally, I have a BIBLE reading plan that I am trying to follow thru on. I have already stumbled a little bit ... I have been using a version of the BIBLE that I just found out is tainted (ask me about it privately), so I have had to restart my reading plan. I am just fussy like that. I have some thoughts on Genesis 1-3 that I would like to jot down.

Why, Why, ... Why ?

Yes, it's 2010 ! I know this. I also know that everyone in the world has made atleast one resolution. I truly don't care for resolutions because once the Honeymoon Phase of the resolution is over and you are stuck in the daily grind you begin to question why you chose to do it in the first place. CONVICTION. Now that's a great sounding word with heavy connotations attached to it. I spoke about CONVICTION a few weeks ago and it has become my new 'Buzz' word.

It is my CONVICTION this year to leave a positive inpression on 2010 ... to tatoo "Bliss was here" somewhere on 2010. Oh, yes I have a great family to do this with but my vision is bigger and farther reaching. I want to teach someone to " Aspire to Inspire before you Expire !" There are beautiful lessons being taught us everyday, the skill is to spot them and get inspired from them.

A thought, a poem , a picture etc. holds a valuable lesson for us all. Find it ... find it fast !
